Pre-Season Training Starts - Message For PlayersNew Swanage Town & Herston boss JASON PHILLIPS will be holding his first pre-season training session, at Day's Park, on Thursday 26 June, starting at 7:30pm. Everyone welcome, bring your boots AND trainers! Please also bring your own drinks.
Jamie Holland To Sign For The SwansJamie Holland, one of the best goalscorers around the Dorset Premier League circuit, will be one of new manager Jason Phillips' first signings for the forthcoming season. Jamie played for Poole Town for four years, scoring over 150 goals in all games, winning the Hampshire League and Cup and the supporters player of the year. During his time at Poole Town, Jamie also had spells at Wimborne Town and Bashley before moving to Hamworthy United at the beginning of 2003/2004 season where he picked up a Dorset Premier League Championship medal as their leading scorer, netting 16 goals in 30 appearances. The following season, with Hamworthy having been promoted to the Wessex League, Jamie "couldn't commit to the travelling for midweek games so signed for Poole Borough" back in the DPL. Jamie went on to notch 20 in 23 as the Hornets finished runners-up, but Jamie added a league cup winners medal to his collection. The next campaign brought Jamie another DPL championship medal as he plundered 20 league goals in 28 appearances, this time for Holt United, with Jamie also, again, winning the DPL cup. Jamie then took a rest from football before signing for Poole Borough last season and then moving on to Holt again for a brief spell. Welcome to Day's Park Jamie, the Swans supporters are looking forward to your first Swans goal (...and many more!)
Next Season's Dorset Premier League - AnnouncementFollowing a recent Dorset Premier League Management meeting held on the 29th May, Giles Kilshawe, the DPL Vice Chairman has reported the following on the official DPL website: GILLINGHAM TOWN have been promoted to the Western League, on behalf of the D.P.L we wish them well at step 6. CHICKERELL UNITED who won the Dorset Senior Division have had their Ground Grading Assessment done, I am pleased to say their ground at Cranford Avenue (Weymouth College) has passed the criteria required for entry into the D.P.L The Management Commitee will be recommending their inclusion to our League constitution in the D.P.L for season 2008/2009. Formal acceptance of the Leagues constitution for season 2008/2009 will take place at the A.G.M on the 25th June - 2008 @ Sturminster Newton F.C Despite various attempts to see the number of sides increased in time for next season, we will be a League with 15 teams again, BOURNEMOUTH UNIVERSITY applied to join the D.P.L for next season, however they did not fulfill the correct rules governing promotion between the D.C.F.A & the D.P.L so their application was rejected.
