30.07.10 - DPL LEAGUE CUP DRAW / BASHLEY FRIENDLY / CLUB AGM
Swans will face DPL Champions Hamworthy Recreation away at Magna Road in a Preliminary Round match for the right to play away at Parley Sports in the First Round proper. Both dates are yet to be announced.
Unfortunatley tomorrows scheduled friendly for Swans first team away at Zameretto Premier side Bashley has been cancelled. However both the reserves and thirds are playing Flight Refuelling at Days Park tomorrow afternoon (KO: 3.00pm).
The Annual General Meeting of ST&H FC takes place tonight at the clubhouse with a 7.30pm start time. Any members of the football club are welcome to attend.
29.07.10 - PRE SEASON FRIENDLY RESULT
Swanage Town & Herston 2 Springers Bar 4
For the second consecutive evening Swans conceded four goals at home, this time at the hands of Wareham based Springers Bar. Although another defeat, the performance was much improved on the previous evening. Swans led 2-1 at the interval with Jamie Holland & George Harvey on target for the hosts. Springers who had ex-Swan's Jacob Harrop and Liam Currell in their side scored three goals without reply in the second half. There were encouraging displays from many wearing pink (swans wore their away kit) as the start of the season fast approaches.

28.07.10 - PRE SEASON FRIENDLY RESULT
Swanage Town & Herston 1 Bournemouth Sports 4
Swans slipped to another home pre season defeat this time at the hands of Bournemouth Premier League outfit Bournemouth Sports. Swans were managed by Jamie Holland and Dave Barlow as Jason Phillips and Henry Simpson were unavaliable due to prior engagements.
Swans looked to use the game to experiment with players and formations and especially after half time Swanage had Sports on the back foot for long periods. However over the whole course of the game Bournemouth used the ball better and were more clinical in front of goal.
Swans only goal was scored by Mark Wheeler. The result, although disapointing should not be viewed as a total disaster. It was always Jason's intention to use half his players tonight and half tomorrow night in the friendly match against Springfield.
27.07.10 - PRE SEASON FRIENDLY FIXTURES
Swans pre season schedule sees the first team step up their campaign by playing three matches in the next four days.
The first sees Swans entertain Bournemouth Sports at Days Park on Wednesday evening (KO: 7.45pm). Twenty-four hours later and Dorset Sunday League side Springfield are the next visitors to Days Park (KO: 7.45pm).
On Saturday Jason Phillips completes his pre season preparations by taking his side to Zameretto Premier side Bashley. The game will be played at Bashley's Recreation Ground (KO: 3.00pm). Swans Chairman Adrian Bishop would like to thank Bashley secretary Dave Grant for arranging the match at short notice after Havant & Waterloville pulled out of their scheduled friendly with The Stags. The match will be of special interest for Bashley keeper David Elm who many will recall started his career at Day's Park. Elmo' who still lives in Swanage has made over 300 appearances for The New Forest outfit.
It will be another tough game for the new look Swans as Stags manager Steve Riley once again will expect his side to be challenging for a promotion slot to The Blue Square South in the upcoming season. In Northern Ireland C International Mark Gamble, Bashley have one of the most feared strikers at Step 3 level. Gamble scored goals for fun last year so Mark Bryant and company beware!
The Reserves and Third team continue with their warm up matches with both in action on Saturday. Both will play Flight Refuelling at Day's Park (KO: 3.00pm) The Reserves will play on Day's Park the Thirds on Journey's End.

26.07.10 - DPL FIXTURES FOR AUGUST
New look Swans open the 2010/11 DPL campaign with two home matches and three away in August. The opening day fixture at home to Cranborne has been put back a day to Friday 13th August (KO: 7.45pm) after a request from The Cranes.
Then follows two matches against sides who finished in mid table last season, away at Sturminster Marshall on Wednesday 18th August (KO: 6.30pm) and then at home to Blandford United on Saturday 21st August (KO: 3.00pm).
The final two matches see Swans travel to reigning DPL Champions Hamworthy Recreation on Tuesday 24th August (KO: 6.30pm). Another away trip wraps up August's games and it's a trip to The Wessex Stadium as Weymouth Reserves entertain Jason Phillips side.Saturday 28th August (KO: 3.00pm).

23.07.10 - PRE SEASON FRIENDLY RESULT
Swanage Town & Herston 2 Poole Town 8
Although comprehensively beaten by a very strong Poole Town side, for at least an hour Swans more than matched their opponents.
In fact the score at half time was just 2-1 in favour of Tom Killick's Dolphins. The second half started in similar fashion to the first with Swans very much in the running. As the game wore on Poole's step five status shone through and in the end the scorline looked very one sided.
Scorers for Swanage were Tom Biles & Mark Wheeler. Both signed for the club tonight along with Jason Morgan and the returning Samir Bessalem. Swans boss Jason Phillips told swanagefc.co.uk that he was pleased with the performance " It was a good run out for the boys but they got tired in the last twenty and Poole's fitness told"

23.07.10 - SWANS V POOLE TOWN MATCH PREVIEW
Phillips Loooking Forward To Dolphins Test
Swans entertain Wessex League Champions Poole Town in a friendly at Day's Park tonight (KO 7:45). After seeing his League Cup winning side dismantled due to retirements and the transfer of three players to Hamworthy United Jason was resigned to a season of struggle as inexperienced younger players looked like making up the bulk of his side.
After being "down in the dumps" with it all a week ago the ex Poole Borough and Hamworthy boss told swanagefc.co.uk that after Wednesday's friendly against Branksome Celtic in which a number of new faces were seen at Day's Park his mood had changed to one that is more optimistic. Said Phillips, "The phone hasn't stopped ringng this week and some of the players that I have been talking to have excellent pedigree at this level. Some of them played against Branksome and I was delighted with the contributions from Anthony Warrington, Jason Thomas and Scott Bedward to name three"
Jason hopes to make more signings before the mouthwatering DPL Charity Shield match against Ham Rec on August 7th. "I am really hopeful Dave Best will put pen to paper and so will a few others. I am talking to Tom Biles who is on Bournemouth's books, Mike Wheeler and Jason Morgan are also very keen. Samir Bessalem is going to rejoin too"
With experienced players like Tim Brown, Jamie Holland, Lee James (all pictured below) and Mark Bryant all staying at Day's Park Jason thinks the future loooks brighter than it did a week ago. "With the experienced lads still here and some superb youngsters like John Lovell and Chris Bennett knocking on the first team door, coupled with our new signings I think the future at Days Park is looking rosy"
Poole Town have promised to bring a strong side. With a few ex Swans in their ranks a great game is in prospect.

22.07.10 - NEW EDITOR APPOINTED
Match day programme editor Gareth Davies has been appointed as the new website Editor. I would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the best in his new role.
Ex-Editor Gerald Dimarco.
22.07.10 - PRE SEASON FRIENDLY RESULT
Swanage Town & Herston 1 Branksome Celtic 1
Swans started their pre season campaign with a draw against Bournemouth League outfit Branksome Celtic. The much sought after Scott Bedward made his debut for Swanage in a much changed line up from the one which finished the DPL Season.
Jason Thomas, Elliott Broomes and Dave Best all played at some stage as Jason Phillips ran the rule over a number of possible signings. It was Best's ex Wareham college Anthony Warrington who scored Swans only goal. Praise must go to the performances of teenagers John Lovell and Chris Bennett.
20.07.10 - EDGAR MAIDMENT CHARITY SHIELD
Swans will bring the curtain up on The DPL season by entertaining League Champions Hamworthy Recreation. Both games between the sides finished all square last season and a superb encounter is surely in store to decide who walks away with the first piece of silverware for 2010-11.
The match will be played at Day's Park on Saturday 7th August KO: 3.00pm.
18.07.10 - DPL END OF SEASON AWARDS
Swans picked up two runners-up awards from The DPL in the best programme and best website categories at the League's end of year awards.
In both categories Swans were beaten by Poole Borough. The club committee would like to thank Gerald Dimarco, Mark Chadderton and Trev Rich for their hard work in updating the website. They would also like to thank Gareth Davies who edits and designs our matchday programme, on producing such a professional publication.
