19.05.13 - SWANS EXCEL IN PROGRAMME AWARDS

Swans matchday programme has finished a fantastic 23rd out of over 600 entries in the 20th Programme Soccer Swap Shop Awards. Our programme was judged second best Step 7 entry behind our twinned Club for this season Clay Cross Town. Our offering came in ahead 19 Clubs in the Blue Square Premier with only Stockport County, Gateshead and Grimsby Town bettering Swans programme. Poole Town were the highest placed Dorset Club in 16th with Swans only seven places behind.

18.05.13 - PREDICTION LEAGUE WINNER

The Swans Forum Prediction League has been won on the final day by Andy who overtook Brakes to win the crown by just one point. Andy correctly predicted a 2-2 draw in Swans final Magna DPL match. Last years runner-up Swans had to be content with third place. A big thanks to all forum users who predicted this season!

Rangers Fightback To Claim Point

Wareham Rangers fought back from 2-0 down to claim a share of the spoils in a typical action packed local derby. Joe Kittle and Perry Mullins had put Swans into a healthy lead only to see it pegged back by Paul Best and Steven Yates. For a full report - Click Here

18.05.13 - RESERVES GAME OFF

This afternoons Dorset League One match between Poundbury Rovers and Swans has been called off owing to Swans being unable to raise a side. It looks unlikely that the match will be staged an the probable outcome will be a home win awarded to Poundbury.

16.05.13 - AGM SET FOR JUNE 12TH

The date for the Annual General Meeting of the Club for 2013 was set last night by the Club Committee for Wednesday 12th June with a 7.30pm start in the Bill Young Clubhouse. With the Club enduring a season to forget in the main and many of the Club's officers deciding to step down, it's vital that replacements are elected and planning for 2013/14 commences as early as possible. To this end, the AGM has been brought forward by around a month.

15.05.13 - CONGRATULATIONS PORTLAND UNITED

Portland United sealed their sixth Dorset Premier League crown tonight with a 3-1 victory over local rivals Chickerell United at New Grove Corner. The win sees Chris Wilson triumph in his first season in charge after replacing Stuart Heath last Summer. All at Day's Park would like to congratulate the Islanders on their achievements.

Town Hold Swans In Stalemate

A point was good enough to secure Sherborne Town Reserves Magna DPL status for another season in a match that Swans could consider themselves a tad unfortunate to not claim all three points after missing a host of first half chances. For a full report - Click Here

15.05.13 - FIXTURE NEWS

Swans Reserves match with their Wincanton Town counterparts - at Day's Park - has been called off tonight as Winky are unable to raise a side. Their is no date set at present for the re-scheduling of the match. The 'A' sides home clash with Kangaroos Reserves scheduled for this Saturday has also been called off due to the visitors being short of players. This match has been re-arranged for Wednesday 22nd May with a 6.30pm kick-off.

11.05.13 - FIXTURE NEWS

The Dorset League Five match between Marnhull and Swans 'A' played last Saturday has been declared a home walkover in favour of Marnhull. Swans won the fixture 7-1, but owing to the fact that both the Reserves and First teams had to call off their games due to transport issues and a lack of available players, the game has been awarded to Marnhull. This action has meant that Pimperne Sports Society can't be caught at the top of the division so they will be crowned DL5 Champions. Well done to all at Pimperne on their League title.

Swans Safe Despite Defeat

Defeat for Swans today at Gaunts Common saw Holt United claim third place in the DPL standings. Although defeated, Swans are now mathematically safe after Poole Borough lost at home to fellow strugglers Cranborne. For a full report - Click Here

Four Goal Beale Down Sports

Jamie Beale single handedly defeated Merley Cobham Sports Reserves this afternoon as he scored all four goals in a routine victory for Swans Reserves. The victory pushes Swans to seventh but condems Merley to Division Two next season. For a full report - Click Here

Swans 'A' were held by lowly Maiden Newton & Cattistock Reserves in their final away match of the Dorset League Five season. This result, coupled with the win over Marnhull being taken away from Swans means that the side can no longer win the League and the Champions will be Pimperne Sports Society. Reserves Plucked By Chickens

Five Star Ford Sinks Swans

04.05.13 - FIRST & RESERVE MATCHES OFF

Unfortunately, both Swans Firsts and Reserves matches have been called off. The First team were unable to raise a team for the DPL trip to Sherborne Town Reserves whilst the Reserves encountered problems with transport on the way to their game at Wincanton Town Reserves. The Club wishes to apologise to both Sherborne and Wincanton for the inconvience that Swans have caused them.

04.05.13 - SWANS AWARDED POINTS FROM PARLEY ABANDONEMENT

Swans Magna DPL match last Saturday which was abandoned at half-time has been awarded to Swans as a 2-0 victory. That was the scoreline at the interval when referee Stephen McFarland called an early halt to proceedings after an altercation between himself and Parley boss Jimmy Fry. Match Abandoned After 45 Minutes

There were extraordinary scenes at the Parley Sports Club this afternoon as the match between Parley and Swans was abandoned after 45 minutes. Although nobody from Swans saw what went on or what was said, we were told it was due to abuse the referee got from the Parley management for the awarding of a penalty to Swans for a foul on Jamie Holland, the penalty was scored by Liam Currell. This put Swans 2-0 up after Jason Morgan had put Swans into the lead. The incident is now in the hands of the DPL management committee who will make a final decision.

Reserves Thumped By Roos

Swans reserves suffered a heavy away reverse at Kangaroos of Dorchester this afternoon. After a mix up with venues, the side arrived with less than 25 minutes to kick-off and were 6-0 down at the break, shipping a further four goals after the break. For a full report - Click Here
